Tree is touching my house

The branches of a tree are extending over my decking and touching my house. They have grown quite considerably this year so I was wondering if it would be possible to cut them back as they are now touching the house and will only get worse!

  • Thank you for your report. This tree is not on Hart District Council owned or managed land and we are unable to assist in this matter. You can use the land registry to find out who the land owner is. https://www.gov.uk/ government/ organisations/ land-registry You have a statutory right to cut back the trees to your boundary. The trees immediately next to your property are not protected so your do not need planning permission in this instance.
