Leaning tree onto fern trees

Reported via mobile in the Leaning trees category anonymously at 16:10, Tuesday 30 September 2025

Sent to Hart District Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8234518.

I am writing to raise a concern about an oak tree situated in my garden. A qualified tree surgeon has advised me that while oak trees themselves are not generally prone to falling, the tree in question is leaning directly onto several fern trees. I understand that fern trees are far more likely to fall, and with the weight and pressure of the oak leaning against them, I am concerned this could create a safety hazard.

In addition, the oak tree is now positioned halfway into the ditch, which I believe may worsen the stability issue over time.

I would be grateful if someone from the council could assess the situation and advise me on the best course of action to ensure safety and prevent any potential damage.
