Damage to fibre optic cable box

Reported via desktop in the Other (non-highways) category anonymously at 14:00, Tue 22 October 2024

Sent to Hart District Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6645598.

The roadworks have just finished on Hitches Lane and I suspect that one of their vehicles has knocked the cabinet and shifted sideways. To ensure that water does not get in (or vermin) I would suggest a new cabinet. It is also located on the pavement (not on the verge - weird).

Updates

  • The boxes is surrounded by a protective 'fence' supplied by Virgin - so I assume they'll fix it once it gets fully broken.

  • The protective barrier that was around the cabinet is now staked to one side providing no protection at all. Obviously not of high importance to replace the cabinet until water ingress knocks out the whole cabinet.
