Brook overflowing - issue with maintenance

Reported via desktop in the Other (non-highways) category anonymously at 20:51, Thursday 5 September 2024

Sent to Hart District Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6441460.

The area flooded badly on 1st Aug with a lot of water outside of the watercourse. Again on the 6th Sept when there was heavy rain it was observed that water was flowing freely outside the brook, suggesting that it is getting blocked upstream from this point and exiting over the neighbouring land. Downstream the brook was flowing fast but still contained.

State changed to: not the council's responsibility

Posted by Hart District Council at 08:24, Friday 6 September 2024

  • Goose Lane is part of the local street network and landowners are even lifting fences to let excess water flow out onto the lane, so I disagree that this is not an issue for the Hart District Council to investigate and support a resolution. Waste cuttings (branches/cuttings) are also dumped along the edge of the lane in the drainage ditches compounding the issue.
