No gates for the park!

Reported via mobile in the Other (non-highways) category anonymously at 23:34, Saturday 18 May 2024

Sent to Hart District Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5991468.

The park has no gates, and is very close to a main road! This really needs to be rectified as is a busy park after school, with all the children dressed the same, and anyone with multiple children can’t always have eyes on their children every single second.

Updates

  • This park has always been this way, is by far close to a main road and has never had any issues with kids / A30 proximity.

  • Never had any issues, YET. Park with no gates is dangerous. Even parks not close to a main road have gates. This park is close enough to the main road for a child with fast legs!

  • "Yet" - This park has been here for decades and never an issue due to no gates. If children old enough can run out faster than a parent etc can see them then they should be old enough to know not to run into the road (that is not even close to the park!). If younger, then a parent etc should be capable of seeing them and stopping them. Not needed, the money would be better spent elsewhere on more important issues.
