Car parked on verge

Reported via mobile in the Car parking in Hart-managed car parks category anonymously at 13:55, Sunday 25 February 2024

Sent to Hart District Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5628262.

The car is parked on the verge, which would’ve had to drive over a pavement to get there.

Updates

  • Number plate also looks illegal - incorrect spacing.

  • The car is still there. Illegally parked with for sale signs in window. Please remove car asap.

  • Suspect this is a repeat offender as Range Rovers for sale have appeared here occasionally over the years. Sometimes they are temporarily moved presumably to be used, so don’t assume it’s fixed as soon as car is moved, it may reappear unless council talk to the owner.

  • Range Rover now moved to opposite side of the road ie west side of Harvest Crescent where it meets Ansells Road. At least is parked on the road now. Let’s hope is doesn’t reappear back on the grass.

  • I believe it is illegal to sell a car on public roads. The council should look into this. It's not nice when you see cars for sale on public roads. It could be there for weeks. It lowers the tone of the neighbourhood and could lead to others selling vehicles on public roads.

  • Car is back on the grass this morning ! Could the council please talk to the owner as they seem to be ignoring any previous conversations that may have taken place.

  • Why is this car not being fined or removed? It is an eyesore. Please do something about it, have it towed away!!!!

  • This car has number plate Y SMP X or Y SNP X. Either way why has the Council not addressed this problem which was reported more than a week ago ?

  • Perhaps we should start making phone calls to the council to see it this issue can get higher priority.

  • The council does not get the above updates apparently so I think this may need re posting as the original entry only says it parked on a grass verge. The is no mention of it being For Sale, that this has occurred before, that it’s parked on a large council owned grass area, that it’s an eyesore and it has an illegally spaced number plate. A full description may give it higher priority.
