Parking on brow of a hill

Reported via mobile in the Car parking category anonymously at 15:11, Tuesday 16 August 2022

Sent to Hart District Council less than a minute later

I was coming down Sandy Lane with Amber Motors on my right. Cars and vans were parked on the right and nothing on my side, so it was my right of way. A community van pulled out round a row of cars including a flatbed truck, didn’t stop and literally forced me off the road. I had to swerve into the nursery entrance opposite. The parking by the garage has been dangerous for a long time. The garage use the overflow across the road and still park cars etc on the main road, which causes traffic backlogs and potential accidents as there is no visibility due to cars they park there.

  • Cars and trucks from the garage parked all over the place! Now you can't see all the way from Kimberley to past the Business Park entrance! I was behind a lorry that gave up trying to turn into the business park today but couldn't due to the cars parked opposite the junction, so somebody won't be getting their delivery!!

  • The continuous parking of cars, trucks and vans from Amber Motors on this road, is becoming increasingly more dangerous. With so many cars parked it totally obscurs your view of anything coming over the brow of the hill, in either direction. There has been so many occasions where there has been a near miss!! Amber Motors not only has the forecourt of the garage and the large overflow public carpark opposite but is also using a large portion of Sandy Lane. Also due to the increasing numbers of cars being parked on the road, it also obscurs the view of cars trying to pull out of Kimberley as well as Fleet business park. This needs urgent attention before there is a serious accident.
