Teens gathering in all areas of Calthorpe Park Playing Fields again.

Reported via mobile anonymously at 23:45, Friday 5 March 2021

Sent to Hampshire County Council and Hart District Council less than a minute later

Unsurprisingly now the weather is getting better there are groups of teens gathering in the two children's playparks every week in the evenings. I'm also seeing alot of cars bunched together in the tennis court car park with people inside late evening time.

And as usual they are not being discreet about meeting during lockdown as they shout, scream and blast music. They seem to think because they are sat in a pitch black field they are out of sight but you can hear them up and down the street!

The council have told us they would increase safety officer patrols but if this has happened it is not addressing the issue. They also asked us to just keeping calling the Police (who are likely to be very busy) and we do report it but again it makes no difference.

Clearly the council didn't consider this was going to a problem because they built the playparks right next to residential housing, and clearly Safety Officers are not stopping the issue. This will only get worse as the warm weather comes and as a resident I don't want to have to be continually disturbed late at night.

Coupled with the fact we are in lockdown and people have complained the park is being left in a state with rubbish and vandalism. If you don't care about residents, perhaps you'll care about your park being trashed!

  • This continues to be an issue. Just last night for example, Monday 12th April - a large of teens turned up at 9pm and stayed past midnight. They were so loud and rawkus you could hear them up and down the street and inside our home even with the windows shut. We continue to inform the council, the police and the community safety team and nothing changes.

  • Still an issue at least 2-3 nights of the week. I suspect it's the same crowd. You wouldn't mind if they were keeping to themselves but they get so loud and aggressive the later it gets. You can hear them crashing around like they're trying to break the equipment. Then when they do eventually leave early in the morning they shout and scream at each other up the road.

It's no good asking them to keep it down or to leave as this just triggers them to get louder like it's a joke. With no Police presence this will just carry on indefinitely.
