Kids play park building site - not secure

Reported by Local resident at 22:14, Saturday 4 July 2020

Sent to Hampshire County Council and Hart District Council less than a minute later

Tonight (Saturday 10pm) a group of drunken teens invaded this building site for the new kids park. Drinking, shouting and screaming while running around on the wooden castle and messing with the building gear. Clearly this building site is not secure.

As residents we really hope this is not an early indication that this will be a place to congregate at night for teens once the park is finished. Unfortunately we think it is.

Updates

  • Builders have left this nicely secured over the weekend......

  • Unfortunately trespassing still persists and the council are aware. Kids are getting into the site at all hours of the evening, a few nights its been around midnight. Worse are the parents who are helping their kids get into the building sight during the daytime to play in the unfinished park. Apparently, despite health and safety laws making this an issue the contractor and council are responsible for, this is a matter for the police to deal with!

These situations occurring should have been obvious at the planning stage and really don't bode well for the future monitoring and control of this site.
